Herpes, other STD or psychosomatic?

I had protected sex and exchanged full body massage with an "upscale" escort 6 weeks ago. She said her vsgina was sensitive. After three days had burning "electric" sensations in hands arm mostly on right side. After few more days had burning sensation in genital region . Pain has been intermittent and varying in intensity with a few days respite in between. Had consistently sore throat and painful nipples (that had oral contact). Had four days of low grade fever (100), but no lymph swelling and no obvious breakout. Was tested for all STDs at 4 weeks with negative results.  Still have intermittent pain, but less with some intense periods. Feeling confused if pain causing anxiety or anxiety causing pain.  Are these possibly prolonged HSV prodome or other initial STD or merely my mind playing horrible tricks? I can't imagine I am inflicting this much discomfort on myself. Are any of these symptoms consistent with an STD? Would appreciate any  help  you could provide.

Sorry, no. I stand by my previous reply. This isn't herpes or any other STD. I would not recommend herpes testing, but if you do it, you can expect negative results. And even if positive, it would not explain your symptoms; you would be faced with dealing with asymptomatic herpes (from some exposure other than the one above) plus still no diagnosis for this problem.

Still having these same symptoms weeks later. Still too early for definitive HSV antibody testing. Trying to ignore and wait it out as you suggest, but increasingly feeling like concerned this isn't going to go away.  Under care of a counselor, but no physical changes just intermittent burning pain. Any other thoughts?

No STD, including herpes, would cause such symptoms, and this was a low risk exposure. And the tests you had are valid, showing you didn't catch any of those STDs.  Your symptoms are typical for the physical manifestations of anxity over the exposure. My advice is to have no further tests and move on without worry.
