2.11 is just a number which indicates your antibody level (roughly). I think that Grace just wanted to make sure it was an IgG test which you had, and with those numbers you can be certain it was.
Sometimes people with a long standing infection will have higher numbers, but sometimes they won't. It's nearly impossible to know when you got the infection without knowing the status of the girl you were with 25 days ago.
You need to repeat your igg blood test about a month after the last time you were tested. Your result is still on the low side though technically positive. Once you've repeated it then we'll have a better idea if it was accurate this time or not.
A result of 2.11 only says that you are positive. It gives no indication of how long you've been infected.

What exactly does the 2.11 tell me? Have I had HSV-2 for a while or does it seem as if I contracted it 25 days ago when I was with that random girl? I hope I was tested improperly and I won't have to ask any more questions.
What I posted in my first post is exactly how the doctor told me. He left me a message and that is what it said. When I told him that I had an IGM test done, he really didn't know what I was talking about and I told him that I needed an IGG test. He also did a culture test since on those two questionable bumps but when I talked with the doctors nurse, she said that there was no culture test performed. He used a swab and said that he would do the culture test but looks like he forgot about it. The results came back HSV-2 IGG 2.11 and negative for HSV-1. I've going back to the doctor this afternoon so that I can talk with him about this. Does it sound like I was properly tested. I sure as hell hope not. I really don't want to live like this.
just as still hurting said - if you are + for hsv2 on a blood test then you have it. Since it sounds like your doctor is a bit clueless about herpes testing - please get a copy of your blood test results and post the numerical results here and I"ll give you a hand with them. I just need to see for instance hsv1 igg 5.4 and hsv2 igg 4.7 or whatever they might be. Then I can make sure you were properly tested and see if you need additional testing or not. Of course HHH can also do this for you too.

I'm sorry but your doctor is wrong, or you misunderstood. A positive IgG blood test for herpes means you have the virus. This does not mean the virus is active, but it does mean you have it and are potentially infectious even when you don't have symptoms.
BTW, it has been 24 days since I had sex with this girl. I've had no itching or painful sores (i had 2 questionable bumps), no flu-like symptoms, and no swollen lymph nodes.
