How'd I get Gonorrhea

Ive been in a monogamous relationship for six months. Then out of the blue I start getting symptoms of gonorrhea and get tested. The results are positive.  My partner has no signs or symptoms ? is it possible they arnt infected, or they are infected and just not showing symptoms. They havent gone to get tested yet, and Im almost 100% cleared up.  Any comments would be appreciated.

Just because someone has a STD it does not mean that it gets transmitted from one act of sex. You can have sex 100 times and not get a STD, or you can have sex 1 time and get it.
I would also advise testing for all other STD's as well.

But if they had it coming into the relationship why would I only have signs now ? And yes he is going to go get tested before anything continues.

Gonorrhea does not have to show symptoms all of the time. Most of the time in men it does and in women about 1/2 the time it does. So your partner could have had the infection coming into the relationship or just aquired it recently.

You must refrain from sex until your partner is tested and treated or you could get reinfected.
