Just one small hurdle.... Trichmonas

Hello I posted before R.E persitant urethral irritation after NGNCU.

well its been three months now and symptoms come and go I've been back to the GUM clinic 4 times now and been tested for Chlamydia, Ghonorrhea, Syphilis, HIV, and thrush (as I have recurring Balanitis) all came back negative. this was a big relief but raised a few questions what is the balanitis?

Like fool I looked on the net and now I'm woried about Trichomonas. The doc said its very rare in our area and not to worry and I really dont want to go back and bother them again unless I have to but I forgot to ask them a question, which someone may on here may be able to answer ( I would ask the docs but I bont have any of the payment methods).

Question, I've had 3 urethral swabs since my initial NGNCU diagnosis all have come back with no pus cells at all on them. If I had Trichomonas would there have been pus cells present in my urethra?

I know I'd need a specific test to find Trich itself but as seen as there are no pus cells present I would see this as a negative result if pus cells are normally present with a trichomonas infection. The UK GUM dont usually test for trich.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help I've been suffering from terrible anxiety over this and I have a kind of mental tick sheet to finish off and STI wise this is my last hurdle, after this I can try to get back to myself for my family.

Kind Regards

A Foolish man

Its not an unfair burden - its the law.  Your doctor keeps everyone's secrets all the time.

Good luck,

Hi AJ no I haven't seen about my prostate yet, i know I should have done but I don't want my GP to discover any STI's as our G.P knows my family. this is my conundrum as it were, I need to be 100% (I know they are bound by confidentiality but its a unfair burden to lay upon them) .

My friend was screened for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea I believe she never mentioned trich.

I read that Trich can cause balanitis that's why I mentioned it thats all:-)

So prostate exam is on the list AJ don't worry about that :-). I know trich is an outside chance (as in outside the atmosphere) but I just thought I'd ask about the white blood cells as it would allay my fear and allow the non sti phase of the checklist to begin.

I know that statement makes me sound like a nutter lol but I'm not,I'm just trying to be thorough.

Thank you for your Time AJ it's a good look out for the world when people who havent even met try to help each other.

Kind Regards

You stated in your other post that your friend tested negative for all stds, right?  So if she doesn't have trich, you can't have trich.  Also, balanitis is fungal, trich is a protozoa.  They aren't related at all.

It was recommended that you see a urologist, and get your prostate checked out.  Have you done that yet?

I get the mental checklist, but you should add a prostate exam to that list.  :)
