I tested for oral STDs this last Monday. The results will come out next Monday.
As the pain in my throatCancer - throat or larynx Throat swab culture gradually increased to the point where I had great difficulty swallowing and drinking, I visited a throat specialist today. In fact, I already felt much better this morning, but went on with the consultation, to make sure I was alright. He diagnosed a probable tonsillitis, in regression, and, to make sure, did a throat swab, whose result also will come out next Monday.
I have the following questions/concerns:
1) Are the symptoms of oral STDs (like gonorrhea) similar to those of tonsillitis?
2) Or, adversively, is gonorrhea a possible cause of tonsillitis?
3) Does the fact that the throat specialist diagnosed tonsillitis (which, in my 44 years of life, I never had before) kind of pre-confirms that I have oral gonorrhea?
4) How likely is it that the whole thing is a coincidence and I just have tonsillitis, for the first time in my life, and no oral STD?
Please, comments to those questions would be most welcome.
Your lab results will help better answer these questions, though the waiting stinks.
