I have the same ISSUE like you. I am diagnosed w/PID but, my STD testing are compeletly negative.. Have u talked to your doctor yet? what was the cause do you know? coz' in a way i am happy that i am clear from std but also confused, what can cause PID... please help me understand. I made an apt. to see my doctor back sometimes next week, but til then i just kept asking myself a question of what can cause this...
Well, I got chlamydia in January but continued to have symptoms. I tested several times after the initial positive test and was negative. It turns out that I have chronic cervicitis as a result of a cervical leep I had years ago. Have you had an abnormal pap and that tissue removed? Maybe something similar happened to you. If not, then you should seek a second opinion and be completely truthful with your doctor.
You need to speak to your Dr, because if your tests are negative then a STD did not cause PID.
when the doctor diagnosed me he took an std test. he didnt diagnose me by the results. He diagnosed me before the results. My STD test came back completely negative for anything so How can I still have PID? I tested negative for chlamydia and ghonnorea? *sorry for the spelling* LOL...
I have to add that as many as 75% of women who contract chlamydia never show any signs. This is probably what happened to you.
PID is a complication derived from untreated chlamydia, gonorrhea, and other things. So, the answer to your question is yes. Sorry. :(
