Thanks for the insight Vance. I will post my question there.
Syphilis test is conclusive at 6 weeks not 3 months, and you really had no syphilis risk.
Herpes questions post in the herpes forum please.
Good morning. My local clinic had advised me to re-test for Syphilis and Herpes-2 because they have a window period of 3 months. Can either of you shed light on the RPR test for Syphilis or IgG for Herpes-2 which I already tested NEGATIVE for? I'd prefer to NOT test again, if they just want my money.
Thanks for the insight James. I should bring it up to her. I know she tested for Gonorreha and Chlamydia a couple weeks before we started dating. We both tested negative for HIV last week so that's reassuring as well.
You're in the clear when it comes to STD's. However, if your fiancé hasn't had a check-up, I think it would be wise for her to have one as well.
Thank you Grace! The clinic I tested at suggested retesting for HIV, Syphilis, Herpes, and all 3 Hep's after 12 weeks. I'm somewhere around 14 weeks now, so I wanted some more insight. I already tested for HIV at 13 weeks and I'm negative.
Note, I'm getting married next weekend and I've been having unprotected sex with my fiancée for nearly 3 years now. After my slip up with the CSW in April, I became terrified of infecting my soon-to-be wife with a disease. Since I became concerned I stopped being intimate with her. Do you think it's safe for me to go back to normal?
I wouldn't bother retesting for any std's. Though 8 weeks was a little early for herpes and hiv, you had no symptoms of herpes and you weren't at risk for hiv so I wouldn't bother repeating any of them.
Always a good idea to test for all std's yearly unless in a long term monogamous relationship. Congrats on starting to be educated about your sexual health!!!
