STD through saliva

Dr,

I received oral sex from a woman of which I used a condom.   I noticed the next day that I had an open wound from scratching previous to the oral sex.   Even though I used a condom the scratch was where the condom started so it was not covered.  I am concerned if the saliva falling to that area could transmit an STDs?   Could you advise.

Thank you.

you need to go and be seen. we can't diagnose you and these could be any number of things going on.

this question is to anyone.... I now have like 5 red bumps below my belly button and above my pubic hair.    Can anyone tell me what this is?   no color in the middle so nothing to pop if you were thinking it was pimples.

you aren't likely to contract herpes on your chest. the skin there is thick and herpes doesn't easily transmit there.

you can detect herpes in saliva but it's not the best way to transmit it. this was protected oral sex. it's not a risk.

Hello Vance, looking on the web, it does seem Herpes is passed through saliva.  Is there anything to validate your point? thanks.

STD's are not passed from saliva. You had no risk.

Herpes only from HSV-1, which is oral herpes.  If you've ever had a cold sore, you've already got it, so you don't have to worry about it.

I would say the chances are theoretical, which means just about zero.  Unless your partner had obvious sores on her mouth then I wouldn't worry about it.  Condoms work.
