STDs from receiving oral

About 3 weeks ago I received unprotected oral from a SW. I only managed to get an appointment to get tested today, but the results take 3 weeks. I am aware that the chance of getting HIV is very low, if at all, but I am concerned about the bacterial STDs. I've had a persistent irritation in my urethra, but no discharge of any kind. Is 3 weeks too long to wait? Is this a sign of chlamydia?

Chip here again. Forgot my other log info, didn't come back cuz I was too worried. Now it burns when I pee. I have to wait 2 more weeks for the results because of the stupid anonymous testing center. Can that result in permanent damage or male infertility to wait that long if it is an STD?

Moreover, I read that symptons from herpes, syphy, and HPV usually appear after 6 weeks. I thought I was almost in the clear. You are saying I need to get tested after 3 months?

I've just spoke to local dermatology and hiv center. They all told me they can't do the test, nor my personal doctor could. They didn't really express their opinion other than  route me somewhere else. Closest place to get tested for syphlis is about 100km far. It would cause me serious trouble getting there and trouble with my personal relationships. I guess it doesn't worth get tested considering my exposure. At least I compared some data, there is 1.5 times more cases than US. Still negligible difference I guess. I hope I'm not doing stupid decision here.

Thank you but still, would you go tested over it? Since it's rare + little chance this way (protected vaginal, unprotected oral) + I have no symptoms. Back then I was only tested for gonorrhea and obviously needlessly for hiv later. I rather won't open up that case again. I don't need a test for relief. Just reassurance that not taking test is ok and rational thing to do.

An expert here in moderated forums says some years ago that he seen cases of getting syphilis by oral but only because he seen more cases than 99.9% of regular doctors. That + I really should develop some symptoms makes me feel, syphilis in this case (protected vaginal, unprotected oral) is rather teorethical. Some people here specifically say to others not to go tested unless symptoms are present. That is technically a country policy here. My regular doctor would probably look strange at me and here it's moreless the only way to get through the system and get the test. I don't want to knowingly jeopardize my life though.

I hope Chip won't mind that I hijacked his topic.

Yes. Syphilis is rare in heterosexuals. And, if you are not showing any symptoms,  I would not stress. A screening test will alleviate any fears. And, should you, in the highly unlikely event test positive for syphilis, it is easily treated with antibiotics.

Same experience 4 years ago with well paid SW (once and only) by appointment at her place (protected vaginal, unprotected oral). Recently I read you could have syphilis without any initial symptoms. Is it true? It made me really worried. I haven't noticed any relevant symptoms. I would rather not take test because here (central europe) is impossible to get one anonymously.

I know for fact there has been no hard evidence of getting hiv by receiving oral. Can I say the same about my possible exposure to syphilis while keeping in mind the fact I haven't noticed symptoms? I'm not sure what is "very low" risk. Seem really stupid being anxious after 4 long years, yet I seek an advice to put my mind at ease. Thanks.

Oral sex is an highly inefficient way to transfer STDs. You have a VERY slight(and unlikely) risk of acquiring gonorrhea, herpes and syphilis. HIV oral transmission is theoretical, however NOT one case has ever been CONFIRMED.
3 weeks is more than enough for gonorrhea, but if you are concerned about herpes and syphilis tests should be submitted at 12 weeks.
