Symptoms were gone and back after 2 years

Hi, i recently have been having symptoms of chlamydia. and have had then about 2 years ago. but two years ago i was told by a friend not to worry about it, that it was a uti. after about 2 weeks it went away. i had told the girl i was having sex with about it and she told me not to worry about it. she and i have been on and off together since then and she has been tested every six months and been clean. now the symptoms are back and havent gone away. i am going to a clinc to get tested in two days. but i was wondering if it was possible for me to have had it and had the symptoms gone away with out her having ever gotten it as well. i am very confused about what it could be and do not know how if i have it she could not and how the symptoms could have come back after 2 whole years. can anyone help me?

Maybe you have an infection. Please go to the doctors as soon as possible. I dont know why you are waiting.

The only thing they did was test me for a uti and refer me to someone who could do an STD test. i had an idea though. i was wondering if my being allergic to most vegetables and having a very unhealthy diet would have anything to do with this?

did they do a proper exam on you today?  did you have a prostate exam done too?  did they do any std testing? what did the clinic tell you they thought was going on?

in hindsight i realized it was stupid to not have gotten it checked out. but it all went away after a week or two when i had it two years ago. the symptoms i have are much like a UTI. some slight itching near the tip of the penis time to time. sometimes it burns when i pee and some whiteish/clear discharge from my penis. other then that there isnt anything. but the pain hast been with me for two years. it was just two years ago i had the symptoms that am having again now. i am thinking maybe it is some sort of other infection. but i had a UTI test done today and it came back negative.

Okay so here is the thing.  Males symptoms come on a lot faster then females.  There would be no way that you have had Chlamydia this long and be in pain for 2yrs.

What symptoms do you have?

A tip:  Never listen to friends when they say its nothing, if you feel something is wrong go to the doctor.  Also if you thought you had something and your girlfriend said dont worry that is very irresponsible on both of your parts.

Coming from experience you never ever ever want to get an STD.  Its scary, its upsetting and if you get an STD that you have for life such as HPV, Herpes, HIV etc, think of the consequences.

Get tested if you are unsure and please use protection no matter what, even if your girlfriend doesnt want to.

No, i was never tested. and the symptoms went away so i never got tested in the first place. which is why i am so confused. the symptoms are the same but this time its not going away which is why i am confused. i have no idea what it could be or why it would have been there years ago and come back. and my girlfriend has been tested and is clean which leads to further confusion.

Chlamydia just doesnt go away on its own.  You should have taken medication for this.  Did you?  If you did, did you go get retested a month later to make sure it was gone?

It is unlikely if after two years that your on and off girlfriend didnt get it. So maybe you never had it
