Syphalis

A small chancre looking thing appeared on my penis 3 days ago. I had unprotected sex 13 days ago so I was very worried to the point I was losing my mind. Today I went to see a dr and had blood drawn for tests and received two penicillin shots. The doctor said that it was not definitely syphalis (could have been ingrown hair or something). If it was syphalis, would the two penicillin shots have destroyed it because it is still in the very early stages? I would like to know if it would go away forever, or is there a small chance it could stick around.

Did they also do a swab for herpes on these lesions?

Since it was only 2 weeks ago that you had sex last, chlamydia and gonorrhea are the only std tests that were accurate at this time.  You have to wait 6 weeks for syphilis testing to be accurate but since you had penicillin now, no way to follow up with testing to know. Fortunately syphilis is still very responsive to penicillin so really no reason for any future testing from this encounter.  You will need to wait and seek out a type specific herpes igg blood test 3 months post encounter or should you get a return of symptoms be seen within 48 hours for a lesion culture for herpes.

Ok if it was syphilis the two shots cured it. However if I was  you should have a blood test to make sure its gone. You can test positive for syphilis though after it is cured because the antibodies remain in your system for a while.

My dr said it had a possibility of being syphalis and the penicillin would do no harm. If it was syphalis it will be destroyed and if it wasn't then I just got a couple shots that hurt. I am covered by very good medical coverage so it was my decision on what route I wanted to go. I gave a urine and blood sample, and had the shots.

Penicillin shots in one dose can cure early syphilis. You had two. My question is if the doc said it wasn't why did he inject you?
