Syphillis test came back negative, how accurate is it?

It was a RPR test. I took it about 85days after an incident. I also was taking Amoxicillian for a tooth about 2wks before taking this test. Should I re-test?

Amox isn't as strong as dox, right?

Also I took mine more than a wk before and around 2wks. I just want a definitive answer. What are the odds of me having syphilis?

Could I have just had a boil that burst?

No, they didn't answer. He just said something about other stds. But couldn't answer this question.

And I still haven't received an answer.

I found this

"The use of antibiotics before having a syphilis test may cause falsely nonreactive or negative results."

But it doesn't say how long before the test. Minutes, hours, days, wks, months? What?
