Can trich be dormant for 10 years? I have been married for 10 years and have had two kids. I have had std tests done for both of my pregnancies and now  the doc find trich in my last culture. I haven't had relations with any one else but my husband for over 12 years. Ivan trich be dormant in a male for 10 years?

Yes, yes, yes!  Trichomonas is one crazy std if you ask me.  It is not a bacteria or virus.  It is a protozoa that can be seen moving under a wet mount. It is the only std that usually does not show symptoms in men for years.  And even then, they are so mild that it goes unnoticed.  It is hard to detect in men even with testing.  Most of the time, men do not know they have trich until their female partners develop symptoms and are found to be positive for it.

Oh,  and it is the only std that can indeed be passed by sharing towels, in hot tubs, etc.
