Type Specific Testing in Vancouver, Canada

Does anyone know of any clinics/doctors that do type specific testing in Vancouver Canada?

If you go to Life Labs (google them) they do specific testing, you'll need to go to an STD clinic (I reccomend calling 604.660.6161) and booking an appoinment so they can get you a requisition form. the test is roughly $130.00

good luck - getting tested in canada isn't easy.  Talk to your regular doctor and tell them you want to pay for a type specific herpes igg blood test out of pocket. It is offered in canada - it's just not covered unless a gyn or an infectious disease doc orders it from what I understand.  Also try contacting focus diagnostics - http://www.focusdx.com/focus/cms/cms.asp?pid=1_5_0  is their US contact info - I couldn't find a canadian page but I know they are incanada too.  Ask them what clinics in canada offer the blood test and see if they can give you a hand.

If you know you will be coming to the US at any point you can order it up yourself thru tstd.org or healthcheckusa.com from almost anywhere in the US.  Wish the darn canadian goverment would change ...grrrrrrrr.
