Urinalysis Concerns

I talked to my doctor about getting tested for STDs and he sent me for a urinalysis, but did not send me for any specific urine tests for Chlamydia or Gonorrhea. When I received the results of the urinalysis, I was told that everything was fine. Now I’m worried that something may have been missed because I wasn’t sent for any specific STD tests. Guess I’m wondering if the bacteria from these STDs would show up on a urinalysis and lead to some sort of abnormal reading or if they would also trigger white blood cells in the urine (which I believe they do look for). Trying to put this encounter behind me and can't until I am certain I didn't catch any STDs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Don't know of any place other then the health dept, but it takes a couple of weeks for tests to come back, but it is free.

Hi Vance. Thanks for the info. Read your profile and it looks like we live in the same city. Do you have any suggestions as to where I can go for quick STD testing? It takes me forever to get in to see my doctor or one of his PAs and then I have to wait days for results. Called Planned Parenthood and they don't accept my insurance and told me it would cost a couple hundred dollars. Was hoping to spend less than that.

You would have to test specifically for STD's.
