Thanks Fleetwood! I hope you have a great day!
The chances of any issue for you are very remote. I think you are clear to continue unprotected sex with your partner.
I received protected oral and protected vaginal sex (same condom) and unprotected handjob. I did understand that I was close to zero risk category but one fine day I remembered that the CSW had a fishy smell from her vagina. That messed up my head and forced me to come here and get my head cleared.
It was a lapse in judgement when I made the decision to go to a massage parlor as I was heavily inebriated. It's probably the guilt that's causing this paranoia.
So, it is okay to assume I haven't contracted anything and continue unprotected sex with my partner?
Thank you!
Yes, you had protected sex and have been checking now for 14 days. Without symptoms any chance of an STD/STI is very remote.
I take it you did not receive unprotected oral sex from the CSW? Don't forget that most CSW take very good care of their health and test regularly, often posing less risk than the random populace.
Thanks a lot for your replies. I knew mathematically, I was at negligible risk as I used protection and the encounter was not rough. I still needed someone knowledgeable to give me reassurance. Thank you Fleetwood and others for your time in helping anxious people like me.
Before I get out of this thread assured, I'd like to ask you one more question - can I safely have unprotected sex with my partner now?
Thanks!
With no symptoms, and you were watching!, then I do not see the need to test for herpes. Something would have shown up by now if infected.
Correction in the previous comment - It IS now 14 days since the exposure.
Thank you for you advice Fleetwood.
I had absolutely no symptoms relating to herpes so far (It's not 14 days after the exposure). I had folliculitis like symptoms (small bumps with surrounding every hair at the shaved area) the next day after a shave. But that cleared the very next day.
With no symptoms two weeks out, do you think I can be confident I didn't contract herpes? Or would you still recommend testing?
With protected sex where your urethra was covered then you will not have contracted an STI through your penis.
Syphilis/Hepatitis could be remote possibilities so may be worth testing for these 12 weeks post exposure. Syphilis is unlikely without a chancre.
In terms of herpes, unless you have had symptoms such as emerging lesions outside of the condom protected area then you need not have concerns. A test at 12 weeks for IgG antibodies type specific for HSV1 and HSV2 will provide an update on your status if you require this.
