Yeast infection or Herpes

My boyfriend and I started having sex in December.  We were both virgins when we first has sex.  He occasionally gets cold sores, but only when he is sick.  Last week I went to my gynocologist because it looked like there was a tear on my vagina.  The gynocologist said it looked like a tear, and didnt look like herpes.  The day after (last saturday morning) i developed a yeast infection.  Now it looks like i have a white dot, sort of like a pimple on both sides of the opening to my vagina.  The tear looks irritated and sort of like a bigger bump than on the other side.  There isint really any pain...but I am very scared.  Could this be herpes, or can a yeast infection cause little dots and irritations like this.  Please answer soon I am very scared!

go and be seen and get tested again for yeast and bacterial infections. sometimes treating for one, alters the ph enough for the other to occur.  also sometimes the 3 day can be too irritating too so a visual exam again is a good idea in general.  if your provider sees anything that looks like herpes this time, they can culture it for you.

I used Monistat 3 to treat the yeat infection.  It helped with the itching and the burning, but now that I finished using it the symptoms are just as bad as before.  Also, my boyfriend gave me oral sex on Tuesday and Wednesday, and he had a cold sore on Friday.
