gonorrhea of the throat

So About 5 months ago I gave unprotected oral sex to a male whom I know has other sexual partners. About 5 days afterwards I started getting a sore throat. This included swollen red tonsils and white patches on them. My sore throat lasted for maybe two months. I never went to the doctor because while it was unpleasent it wasn't all that painful. I did not think much of this encounter. However, about 6 days ago I performed unprotected oral sex on him again and yesterday my throat started hurting again. With the swollen red tonsils and the white patched. It is not all that painful just irritating when I swallow and such. Keep in mind that this is 5 months after the first experience. I should also mention that I am prone to getting strep throat and tonsilitis. No one around me or even people that I have kissed have gotten this sore throat from me so I am guessing that is not strep throat. Could this be a case of gonorrhea or am I just making too much of a big deal out of this?

There are a few STDs that you were at risk for, HSV, Syphilis, and Gono...

You should get tested to learn your status. Even though you have a history of tonsilitis and or strep throat your best bet is to be tested..

And if you've had unprotected penetration you should consider a full STD panel.
