quick question about antibiotics

I was given a shot of rocephine yesterday, approximately 20 hours ago for gonorrhea. In the past I have had mild allergic reactions to antibiotics which mostly included breaking out in hives all over my body. I am just a little worried.....is it too late for the reaction to occur? Would it have occurred already since it has almost been 24 hours? Also, if I was to have any other side effects, when would they show up? I am just wondering because I am not familiar with antibiotics at all and I am a little concerned. Thanks

Most allergic reactions would happen pretty quickly, in fact usually you'd see signs within 20 minutes.  Still, I don't know about all reactions so it's hard to say.

The other factor here is that just because you are allergic to SOME forms of antibiotics, does not mean you are allergic to ALL.  There are several different classes of antibiotics and they all behave differently.  So it's quite possible that your system is tolerating the rocephin just fine.
