worried

Last week Monday, I had protected oral sex. On tuesday, I started to feel a burning sensation while urinating, in fact, even when I dont urinate, there is discomfort. I saw a dr. on Tuesday and he performed a urine culture and told that I have a UTI and prescribed Cipro. Since I am so nervouse and anxious, I had an STD test (blood, urine) and the results came in today as negative. I still feel a little bruning and discomfort.

My question is could I have had a false reading from the STD testing since I was on Cipro for a UTI two days prior to taking the STD test?

Please respond quick as Im very nervous.

Thanks for your comments. Im nervouse because I still have the burning felling and today will complete the cipro treatment. I would think the UTI is gone.  I did use a condom when oral was performed. Prior to oral, she touched my penis though. Could that have made a difference?

Yes you could have a false result since you started taking cipro, but you had no reason to worry about an STD because you had protected sex. I should not say a false result because Cipro has been used to treat some STD's so it would not give a false result what it could have done is cure the STD. But like I said you were not at risk for an STD by using a condom.
