hello,

i realize i've been keeping a low profile, but i figured i'd give you all an update.

i have been dealing with all kinds of run-of-the-mill bouts of influenza, colds, etc.  my 5-year-old woke up with yet another fever and runny nose this morning which i just can't believe.  i guess her entire class has been passing this stuff back and forth, but this is the 5th time since before christmas that she's been sick!  she generally bounces back pretty quickly, but i, on the other hand, am left dealing with flare ups of my neuro symptoms like i can't believe which worsen after each consecutive bug.  anyway, that's where i've been and part of the reason i have been relatively quiet lately.  i get very fearful when my neuro symptoms flare and i tend to retreat.

on a brighter note, i'm healing up quite nicely from my c-spine surgery and have no complaints about it for which i am beyond grateful.  my biggest fear was that i would end up in worse shape than i was prior to the procedure, but i am happy to report that that has not been the case.

i went to see a hematologist today to follow up on the DVTs i developed post-operatively and he has ordered a huge panel of blood tests which include the lupus anticoagulant & anti-cardiolipin antibodies tests.  these are both used to screen for hughes' syndrome, which i think is a good thing.

i am still waiting to hear about my lyme disease test results.  i am going to call my lyme doc next week to see if i can get in to see him sooner than our next scheduled appointment at the end of march.  it's hard to sit around knowing that the test results are out there, but i don't know what they are.

anyway, that's where i'm at.  i am going to try to be more present and less in my own head.

i hope everyone is doing okay.

blessings to you all,
binx

Hi binxy not sure if you got my last email...

I do worry about your family you shouldnt be getting so many illnesses. I think it is in part mainly because of the stress you have all had with your spinal problems and surgery and now that you are on the mend hopefully this can all settle down. You have been through the wringer you know with this and it must have a knock on effect.

The good thing is that you made the right decision to heal this spinal injury and it is working well and by next year you will be running marathons lol.

Now the problem is the nuerological bits but with all the blood tests I hope you get some answers to this....

As to your immune system you can strengthen it ... your daughter certainly hers could do with a boost poor thing if all her classmates keep getting sick, let us hope a week away from germs will give her a chance to feel better.

I try to keep my body clear of toxin which seems to help me, as touch wood nah I am not saying it as it will happen lol but you know what I mean. I drink pure grape juice every day as I cant chew grapes now, I take a garlic capsule too. I try to keep stress free yeh right not with my family but I do try lol.

I stopped all communication last week for 1 week with my family to see if it helped and I had the best week yet lol. I cant believe that 2 grown up women can always be in some kind of crisis lol or my step family.

I have decided to extend it for one more week lol, and just keep to minimal contact.

I wish I could make you all better I cant imagine having to cope with my illness and a sick daughter as well and you yourself getting flu as kids are muck magnets sadly. My grandkids are not allowed to see me if they have colds now......as I was constantly catching something off them.

Well tomorrow I go for my appointment I am kind of excited but also not expecting much.

When I sat down yesterday and wrote down everything that has happened since I went blind twice after Brazil 2000 I thought with all I know about MS I would have diagnosed me with that lol......

I am sending you huge hugs I did send you an email and also answered you on FB about lymes.

Love Mariaxxx

thanks, jibby.

i appreciate the good thoughts for my daughter.  her classmates have been passing around flu after cold after sore throat, etc.  it's been non-stop.  i hope this is the last of it for a while as they have this next week off and hopefully everyone will come back healthy and they can have a clean slate.  ugh!

i keep thinking about their little immune systems being bolstered by all this, but mine is taking a beating!

i hope you are doing well, and thanks for the latitude for self care.   the same goes for everyone else on this board.

blessings and hugs,
binx
