Is gay anal sex without condoms safe since we are both virgins?

My boyfriend and I (both guys) are each other's first sexual partners. We've had anal sex a few times and always used a condom, but were wondering if it were any less safe, if we didn't use one.  None of us has had sex with other people, so is it even possible for us to have STDs. Are there also any other dangers of anal sex without condoms than STDs?
Thank you very much for your answers

If you trust that they are really a virgin, then std's are not a concern.  Someone has to have an std to pass one along which means they'd have to had the sex part of sexually transmitted.  It's good to use condoms though to get into the habit of doing so.  good luck
