I have two questions about std's that I am too embarrassed to see a doctor for.
I had a sexual encounter with a guy who later told me that he has HSV-2. He has never had any symptoms, so this encounter was not during a breakout and it is likely that he was not shedding the virus. We did not have sex or oral sex, but we were laying naked and had mutual masturbation. I believe there was some genital-genital contact, but it was minimal, accidental and momentary. What are the chances that I contracted herpes from this encounter with no sex and no visible outbreak?
I had another sexual encounter with a guy who I later discovered probably had HPV. I know this because his ex girlfriend, whom he had had unprotected sex with many times, had a positive pap smear. She never had any symptoms. Similarly, he also did not have any symptoms. We had oral sex but no vaginal sex, and like above there was probably minimal momentary and accidental genital-to-genital contact. Also, I am vaccinated with gardisil.
I am a virgin and have never had a pap smear (as advised by my brother and father who are both MDs. I obviously cannot ask them about these questionable encounters, and I do not really want to get a pap smear unless it is absolutely necessary. I was wondering what the probability is that I contracted hpv or hsv-2 from the above encounters.
