Unusual tingling

Last weekend my bf and I had unprotected sex (I'm on birth control pills) and that evening I had a strange tingling around my vagina. It actually woke me up in the middle of the night. He usually finishes inside me, but he had pulled out both times that day. I thought it would pass, but by Wednesday it was quite irritating so I used Canesten and I think the cream provided some relief but it's not fully gone so it may not have been a yeast infection. I am prone to vaginal dryness and have suffered from cracking around my vagina in the past. I noticed a crack but they've never caused tingling like this. Not sure what is going on?? With all the symptoms listed online the thought of herpes is a little scary, but I know it could be many things like using a scented soap in the shower, allergy to semen, bacterial infection... There are no sores or bumps or pain during urination. Just this damn tingling that's driving me crazy! Any ideas? And should I not be continuing to have intercourse?

Thank you! I hope it subsides. I know it could be a multitude of things, and I'll definitely be seeing a doctor even if it goes away to ensure a clean bill of health

It takes a while like 2 weeks before you get symptoms of herpes.  Herpes does not tingle. It appears then opens up and you will feel pain. I don't know what the tingling is, but does not sound like a std. With saying this, however, it does not mean you did not catch a std. You had unprotected sex. However, most people do not have stds.
