Is birth control still affective as a contraception if I dont get my period on it?

I have been on LoLoestrin for 4 months now, and since it is such a low dose of hormones, I dont get my period at the end of each month.  Im just wondering if, because i dont get my period, it is still a safe contraceptive because I have a boyfriend and we rely solely on birth control. Any imput appriciated, thanks!

With some birth control pills you can either skip a period or have none at all. If you are taking it every day around the same time it should be very effective.
