Is it normal?

Is it normal to have a period a day after having sex? It not heavy, it's very light, A little cramping, not bad. I was guess that it was because me and my fiance didn't do it for along time. I know I'm not pregnant. Two weeks ago I had a test and also x-ray for another reason and a blood test all normal.( I have to go to the Doctor a lot. I have seizures but only at night and I'm asleep when it happens.Been two years though.)  I have IUD in and never have unsafe sex even though I've been with my fiance for about seven years now. Ever since I got this IUD eight months ago my periods have been abnormal.

Hello,
If your menstrual period was expected at this time, then it can be your menstrual cycle. But if you have had your menstrual cycle then it can be due to trauma to the cervix during intercourse also. The vagina and vulva are delicate, yet resilient structure made of skin, mucous membranes, muscle and so forth. The lining of the vagina is very similar to the tissue that lines the inside of your mouth. It's soft, squooshy, and it bleeds when it's cut or roughly rubbed.

Avoid masturbation and intercourse for some days and if the symptoms persist then get it evaluated from a gynecologist to get post coital bleeding ruled out.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

It could be caused by the IUD. But it could also be caused by the sex being too rough. I take it it's just vaginal bleeding and not a period? Or are you due your period and just happened to have it the day after having sex? A period is different to bleeding after sex.
