SYPHILIS

Dear Dr,

I am 12 weeks pregnant and had a recent blood test for Syphilis:

EIA Total Antibody Negative
TPPA Negative
RPR Negative

but

EIA:IgM is positive  Please advise as I am so afraid and confused. I have not any risky relationship but one marriage in the past 2 years.

By the way, I am not a doctor.  You will have to pay for doctor's advice on here.  I would just wait and see what your doctors says and maybe get a second opinion. Good luck.

I don't know the scientific response to why it happens.  I just know it happens.  To go to the STD forum, just go to forums on here and find the std.

You should take this to the std forum. However, you could have had a false positive test. It happens with women that are pregnant.  What did your doc say?
