Sexual headaches and quitting smoking?

I quit smoking 7 days ago and three days in I was attempting to handle things myself and as I was getting to the happy point, the base of my neck felt like I had been hit with a brick (not a turn on)! I was terrified as the headache slowly made its way to the front of my head and into my eyes. The pain made it impossible to continue. I was scared I was having a stroke, I ran and took two Ibupro and two aspirin just in case. Anyway, the next day the same thing happened minus the initial blast to the back of the head. Now, for the third day in a row. This time it was different though. I was having intercourse with my wife and upon her getting to that happy place, I decided it was my turn. I was just about there and had to stop....this is getting ridiculous. I was wondering if anyone knows if this could be caused by the Chantix that I am using as an aid in stopping smoking or if this could possibly be from quitting smoking all together. Is it an increase in blood flow? Any help or input would be greatly appreciated.

If you been taking the medicine for a week or two and now starting to experiences head pains, yes its probably a trigger from the medicine. Just stop taking it for a couple of weeks to see if the feeling go away. Besided, you don't need that to stop smoking. (in my opinion)

Thats the thing, I smoked way longer than I was supposed to while taking the meds and had no problems, but now that I finally decided to make up my mind to quit, these headaches have started. I agree that some do not need any assistance in quitting, unfortunately I'm not as strong willed when it comes to that......failed miserably when attempted to quit cold turkey.

Some people are sensitive to meds, and one symptom is headache.  Also, the nicotine in cigarettes is a vasoconstrictor, a bit like caffeine.  Going off nicotine can increase blood flow and cause headache in certain people much like going off caffeine.  You will likely adjust in a few days.  You could keep trying the ibuprofen or Excedrin migraine if you tolerate it.
