hormonal-related vaginal odor?

I love my girlfriend, and we love sex. I very much enjoy going down on her, but her vaginal odor is absolutely overpowering, unless immediately after a shower. She had a hysterectomy 9 years ago (and has been 100% free of cancer since!), so I am not sure if the odor is related to hormonal issues. It is definitely not a hygiene issue. I have not mentioned this to her. I do not want to upset her in any way, as she is already insecure about her body, even though I love every inch of her. Many times, we shower together as foreplay, which alleviates the problem, but what about when it's more spontaneous? If this is something that can be resolved, I would definitely be willing to bring it up with her and give her whatever help and support she needs. Please let me know if this can be helped. This is not by any means a disqualifier; I'm with her regardless. I just want to know if our sex life can be improved in this way.

Im experiencing similar issues. My bf hasn't said anything about it. But I can smell the change. It dont smell fishy, or nasty... just much stronger than usual. I went to doctor today and she suggested probiotics to balance bodies bacteria. I also picked up a ph balance wash by vagasil. (Hope my experience helps you).

Everyone has their own unique smell and that might just be her smell.

Thanks for the advice. The odor is not "fishy" at all, it's more of a "spicy" type, almost similar to BO, except as I said immediately following a shower. I haven't encountered anything similar before, and since my gf has very good hygiene, I ruled out uncleanliness right away. She is the only woman I've been with who has had a hysterectomy, and she is taking her regular prescriptions for this which is why I was wondering if it was related. Her diet is not radically different from that of past gf's, who did not have this issue.

It could also be BV (bacterial vaginosis) it is a bacterial infection and sometimes the only symptom is a foul odor. The odor can smell fishy at times. This is NOT an Std, but it does require antibiotics.

This isn't very scientific; but, I've found that what one consumes affects how one tastes ... down there. The man that I'm currently with can tell if I've changed my diet or if I've been taking medication by how I taste. Likewise, he always seems to taste sweeter to me after a few days of him drinking pineapple juice.
Again, this is just an observation based on my own experience.
Perhaps, if you sweeten your gf's diet, she might taste better?
