PLEASE HELP...I'm concerned.

My boyfriend has scabs on his penis, one of them is pretty big and kind of hangs. I asked him about it, he says he had a real bad dirt bike accident and the scab just won't go away and they are scabs he needs to get removed. Is there a such thing as hanging scabs that need to be removed with surgery....He says its not a STD but I dont know if he's just telling me this. I need some help please, I'm concerned..I wont have sex with him until I know whats going on.

Um, yeah...That sounds more like genital warts -which IS contagious and can cause cervical cancer in you...Here's a simple solution if you decide to have sex with him..-USE A CONDOM! ;) You can use tons of "alternative" excuses like fear of pregnancy for starters. (The pill isn't 100% effective...) If this is what it is, he really should get it checked because it can spread to other parts...I'm proud of you for listening to your inner judgment and "gut feel" on this. Why risk it? Condoms work for any type of sex (oral, vaginal, etc.)~MM

Yeah, that's a different story and perhaps I didn't adequately read the original...MM has the right idea

thank you, i want to believe him but its been there for a LONG time and he swears the only way he can get rid of them is by getting them removed. But its not like a scab on teh skin, it hangs like an old mole or something. I'm scared of it, I dont want to chance it, but I dont want to leave him..I'm conflicted

I once was at a party many years ago and a young woman and I rather hit it off...as we were making out on the couch (this was just out of highschool) she was fondling my penis and proceeded to "rub it" and give me a handjob.  Unfortunately in the process of rubbing, it scaped and scratched my penis and for a number of days was left with some pretty good sized scabs...

I'm not saying that this is what is going on..that some woman is doing this to him, or him to himself but his explanation doesn't sound too believable..

You are a smart lady. I'd be doubtful too...If the scabs were from trauma, he could soak them off himself -and they would heal rapidly. I'd keep my distance if I were you. He may really think this is the problem, and be ignorant of if he's infected with an STD. A culture and an examination (by a Dr) of the scabs would tell him and you whether it was something to worry about...~MM
