Trichomoniasis

Im 6months pregnant and I was diagnosed with a kidney infection. I had to take antibiotcs for 10days. About a week later I started experiencing itching and had a vaginal discharge. I had a paps and the doc gave me perscription for a yeast infection. (I was told that the anti can cause a yeast inf) So the next day I got a call from the doc office saying I tested positive for "trich" a STD. I have no doubt that my mate has been faithful.(which has no symptoms) My question is could it have came from the kidney infection or yeast. I also read that it wasnt an
STD. Help!

Trichomoniasis is a parasite that is transmitted the same way as any STD. Men can carry it for a "long time" (never been able to figure out how long) without having any symptoms, if they ever have a problem with it. Because it isn't a fungus or a yeast it has no association with a yeast infection (although it might be able to mimic one or perhaps even cause one). Similarly, the kidney infections might have been caused by trichomoniasis, I'm unsure. However kidney infections make the parasites come from nothing. Likely your partner carried this without knowing, as there aren't very many obvious symptoms of it, and passed it to you.
