Yes there are instances of women getting pregnant during their period. The semen can stay alive quite a few days and some women have ovulation at unexpected times depending on stress, hormone level etc. You really are not totally protected during any time of the month. Go see your gynecologist who can make sure that you are not at risk now for an unplanned pregnancy. The odds are that you are fine- but since it is not impossible you should definitely go get a check up.
yea i know...but this was just a one time thing, i always use protection...but thanx
instead of worrying about this every month, why not get on some form of birth control?
Like I said, everyone is different, but "most" people do not ovulate on their period. So, the odds would be far fetched of becoming pregnant. You really can't test until you've missed your next period. If you are still concerned you could take the Plan B if within 72 hours, I think.
But what are the odds of becoming pregnant when u have your period and have sex? Thankx
thanks so much for replying!! my period is due next week...so i hope i get it!! thakx again!!
But, looking back at your post, it's been more than 72 hours. I wouldn't stress too much. Because if you stress your period will be delayed for next cycle and that will freak you out. I would just wait and see, but the odds aren't in your favor if your body is like the majority.
Anything is possible. You have to ovulate to get pregnant and usually you ovulate a week or so after your period. Around CD 12-14.
By the way, that is based on "normal". Everyone is different.
