My poor poor nipples :/

so, i am 16 years old, im about 110 pounds (maybe 108) and im not sexually active, nor do i have any diseases. Im perfectly clean. So, ive noticed that recently my nipples have grown. not my boob, just my nipples. like they have kinda extended to the sides, and idk you could call them puffy. And they arent tender or any of that, if anything they are softer. and just massive, like they take up my whole from boob. To me it reminds me of a pigs snout xD. But all the sites ive visited about this problem tells them to loose weight. but,... uhhm if i loose any more weight ill be anorexic xD.
so is there any other way someone could help me out? like any advice besides loosing weight. Or maybe tell me whats wrong with me :c

Hello.

Your body is going through changes associated with puberty. I wouldn't worry about your nipples because they're still an unfinished work of art. And realize that all nipples are different--some are perky, while others are large and impressive. If you want some reassurance, I'd suggest you see your gynecologist. If you don't have one, now is a good time to begin a relationship with a gynecologist that will ensure your continued good health and education about your body. I suggest you get a referral from someone you trust or call your local Planned Parenthood or women's clinic. Best of luck to you. Dr. J

At your age, hormones are coming in cascades, that is, some are being produced at differing rates, yet multiple hormones are being dumped in your body at the same time, and they have effects that are perceived as odd because they do change your body AND mental state.

An estrogen cascade would make your nipples enlarge rapidly- this doesn't mean that this is a permanent state- this is your body readying itself for pregnancy. Progesterone often gets dumped into your body at the same time, but this isn't an absolute- without a lot of progesterone, you wouldn't necessarily get increased sensitivity around your nipples.
There isn't anything wrong with you- your body is still not what it will be when puberty is finished. Your breasts haven't stopped growing yet, and the final shape and size of your nipples isn't concrete. You need to be patient and not to worry. If you need reassurance, speak with your physician.
