Sinusitis and Spider Veins

It seems like every winter I get a sinus infection with a lot of pressure & pain.  I use the netipot and pain killers and it clears it up in a several days. I also seem to get redness and spider veins on the cheeks where the pressure was the greatest. These spider veins can last for months even though the initial sinus infection that caused it is long gone.  It's almost as if the pressure caused external damage to my facial skin. Has anybody had this happen to them?  Is this normal?  ...or could it be another issue?
