numb upper back

I have a 6 year old who has had numbness on his upper back (where neck meets back all the way down to the bottom of his shoulder blades).  He feels pressure but no pain.  This has been going on for several months (not sure exactly how long...he didn't tell us right away) and went away briefly...and returned.  His xrays show nothing abnormal.  A year ago he had a 7 degree scoliosis curve and this year that is gone.

Hi and welcome to the Spinal Cord C/D forum.

An x ray is to look at bone, u may want to have a MRI to see if it is a tissue issue...did he have ne falls or injury to the area, or been in a MVA?

If so, a syrinx could have formed this is a cavity in the spinal cord that fills with CSF and can cause pain and pressure in the area u mentioned.

A MRI of the cervical spine may be the best way to see what might be going on.
