What about divorce from a Verbal husband

I have struggled with the idea of divorce..I have been raised that GOD hates divorce..so, what do you do in a situation where you have prayed about your marriage and your husband doesn't change? He appears at times to change but its because it will benefit him in some way, and i don't fall for that anymore. (my husband was a very VERBAL person, has called me EVERY name in the book you can think of) I have been moved out for a year now because i got tired of hearing him say to me every day "why don't you just move out" so, I got help and moved out and our agreement was that he could have the house as long as I got primary custody of our 3 year old daughter, well he seems to be making all the decisions when it comes to her..and don't have the money to get divorced.and the reason why i haven't done anything about it was because he said we could get divorced by doing it ourselves through the courts so as I always have i believed him, but the way hes acting im going to have to somehow get a lawyer, not sure how going to pay for it...lost can someone please give me answers..I actually can't believe im looking for help i was raised that we are to deal with problems our self...and please no comments degrading GOD...Thanks

Hi there,
I was married to a christian when I was 20. The relashionship became abusive verbaly and then was started to get physicaly.  I told him to leave and he did. We had no kids.  I am remarried now with 2 beautiful children. I am a christian.  When I got my divorce I wasn't working so I could get legal aide in Canada. I'm not sure where you live but look into that. Don't wait to get the divorce. You need to move on with your life and not have this burden on you.  Pray to the Lord to guide you with your discission.  Hope this helps you. Take care.  Smileyhappy,.

Hey fin42rule.

You are here for mainly Spiritual advice, I hope.
The "mess" we create in our lives, has very little to do with God, as we are given free will.
And God does not "hate" anything, including divorce. God is only a Loving God.
Our Egos and our Ego-driven minds, create these situations.
Leave your wishes for the best possible result, with the Universe (Higher Power, God).
But your wishes have to come from the heart, as only kindness,
love and forgiveness for all, will open the door to a higher level outcome.
Perpetuating the situation with more of the same that started it, will give you exactly that.
Anger, fear, judgement, etc. are blocks to this process.
One must be open and pay attention, as indeed there will be messages and signs.
Do not let your mind's  critic discard this, as it is something not familiar and known to the "logical" mind. Accepting it from the place of Spirit and Faith, will allow then the manifestation of your true and pure wishes.
And don't be afraid to ask for Spiritual help.
It is all around you! Just ask! And do not be too surprised, when something good,  "unexpectedly" takes place. Just be thankful and grateful.

I am sorry for all your struggles.I have been though the same thing. I am not sure if you are in canada but if so you can visit a legal aid lawyer ( they base fees by your salary ) and sometimes it is free. You have agreed to a bad deal..You most likely would have primary custody anyway, and possesion is nine tenths of the law, meaning you left the house so it would be hard for you to get it back. Protect your kids from this awful mess. i left my ex because i didnt want my son to ever treat a woman the way his did treated me. He is 19 and is doing incredible. he needs to pay support for the kids and because you have kids i would not do anything without speaking to a lawyer. i am pretty sure all lawyers give you a 1/2 hour free consult to advise you and if there are assets they will bill you when everything is settled. only thing is some lawyers try to get the parents to fight so they can get more money out of the divorce so just try and be civilized to each other, and really think only of the kids ..hope that helps>>:) good luck!!
