So, I have read the story and wanted to say that I will pray. It is probably terrifying that things like this go on around you as I see you are from Pakistan. And if you are Christian, that must be very worrisome that things could be misunderstood in such a way as to lead to a horrific death such as this. I'm not sure if she burned parts of the quran as that is a little unclear. I'm sure she didn't realize she was putting her life and her husband's life in such danger. I would imagine as a Christian in such a country, one must be very careful. Anyway, sorry to hear and I'll pray for those in your country, the souls of these two murdered and of course, their other children and parents. peace to you JD.
so much pain and suffering committed in the name of god or allah or whoever or whatever! It makes you wonder if prayer can really help without some kind of action along with it. Some quote about "works" is on the tip of my mind. you are right specialmom and "when in rome do as the romans do" comes to mind....along with throwing pearls before swine etc. You gotta be very careful what u say or do.....and why not clean up your own house before u go looking to clean up someone else's house----plenty to do in this country as workers for god or spirit.
this really raises the question of what to do as spiritual folks and since ignorance seems to be one of the problems perhaps effort to raise consciousness is the way to help. Of course---food----water---might be needed before anyone can listen.....but set the example here and be a light by how you live your own life.....and be smart doing it-----jesus says he sends you out as a sheep among wolves and that is a clue as to how to act......
thanks for the posts! we gotta start this group somewhere....and here we are......
In other parts of the world they are brutal. Most know the laws of the land and the prevailing religion. They don't have religious freedom. I will have to read what it means quran desecration. My point being, did they draw attention to themselves by criticizing the prevailing religion? With the brutality and barbarianism of that nation, that IS almost a death sentence.
I don't think anyone should be put to death for that and obviously this was a heinous murder---- however, I live in a free country. If I didn't live in a free country, I'd be careful how I expressed myself!
