Don't feel alone, I had my first TIA in 2000. My doctor told me it was due to suppressed grief over the death of my son (he died at 17 years from cancer). She prescribed an antidepressant and sent me to a therapist who did grief counseling. The second one did not happen until 2007, and a third in 2008. It seems with each one my memory gets worse. At times I almost feel dyslexic in my speech and typing. My doctor told me there are "like scratches" on the brain from the TIAs, but nothing can be done about it. I finally had to retire from a job I loved because I just could not function to my full and previous ability.
Stacey, I have never had a stroke but what you're experiencing is something I go thru all the time. I think it's a normal part of aging.
