What is normal?

Hi all, just wondering everyones experience with stroke...

my grandmother had a stroke in May of this year, and while she is doing really well on her recovery. I find 2 things that are very strange...
1 Her personality has changed.... I cannot describe it but she is not quite her anymore

2) Some days seem to be fantastic with her memory and cognition and other days its terrible...

Has anyone else noticed this too???

Thanks :D

Hi,
I am a 28 year old stroke survivor. I had a stroke in July 1, 2010.  I think everybody that knows can tell I am different, but I didn't notice the change until I  left the hospital.  When you have a stroke, your emotions are so out of wack.  I can be happy at one point, and crying another moment.  Sometimes I smile when I don't want to, and I can't help. Most times I can't control my emotions.  That is the problem your Grandmother has.  I hope she gets better.  Be Blessed.

post stroke, peoples personality can change. like i have said in another post, someone can be lovely before the stroke, post stroke they can change, they can use swear words etc etc.

a stroke is also known as a brain attack, her memory has probably been slightly affected.

well done to your grandmother for doing really well in recovery! time is a great healer
