need some questions answered

my g/f mother has had a stroke about 1 month or so ago, instead of seeking proper care she went and seen a natural therapist. she has just gotten back from her trip, from the therapist that she has seen for the past 2 weeks, the problem is that she has detoriated even worse, it used to take her 10mins of talking before she started to slurr, now she can only say simple basic words, the therapist promised that he would 100% heal her, and the only reason she went to see that person is because her sister and her side of the family all go to this therapist, and talked her into it, and has put 100% faith in this guy.

ok question time,

if she has gone that down hill in that 2 weeks she was away, how much longer till it gets to the point of no return?

how can we persaude her to get real help from a real specialist?

if it is possible that she would see a specialist what kind of recovery is possible?

thank you guys

Yes, I can perform miracles too!  Bull...  If you cannot convince her or another family member to have her seen, contact a hospital social worker.  They will help you and guide you.  Without real medical attention, you could lose her.  Do you really want to risk that by waiting.  One stroke will be followed by another and once it is a massive stroke, there is no turning back.
Strokes kill and when they don't, they often might as well have.  If a therapist could heal, everyone would be making appointments.  Think about it.
Good luck, I wish you the best.  You have a tough journey ahead of you.

I think you need to pull out all the stops and scare her into seeing a neurologist. If she doesn't see someone who can tell her what caused the original stroke  it is likely that another will occur. If it was a bleed then a scan should be done  to see if there are any other weak arteries. If it was a clot you need to find out what caused the clot and work on preventing the next one.
She needs to do this very soon since the longer you wait the harder it becomes to see the damaged areas in the brain, they become absorbed into the rest of the brain and then no one will be able to determine the cause of the stroke.
Go to the therapist with her and ask very pointed questions,  How did he heal the blood on the brain? How did he know it was a bleed rather than a clot? What license is he practicing medicine under?
Ask the therapist why he hasn't sent your mother to a neurologist to find the cause of the stroke.  If necessary try throwing around terms like hippocratic oath and mention lawyers if she has another stroke you will blame the therapist
Good luck

You must try ansd persuade her to get proper medical attention. Stroke can be very serious as anyone here can tell you. Having been in hospital with it myself, I have seen some very bad cases.I've been lucky and have made a full recovery more or less.
I hope your gf mother gets well soon

tried to convince her but she still doesn't want to see a doc, she is going to this therapist for one more week of sessions, then if she hasn't gotten better then she is going to see a specialist.

the amazing thing though therapist said that he healed the blood on the brain without even taking any scans or xrays?

how amazing is that?

What the therapist is counting on is that spontaneous recovery occurs during the first 6-12 months, so any recovery in that time will be attributed to the therapist. You need to have her see a stroke rehab specialist, someone who has worked with numerous patients and get to OT,PT and speech therapists who have experience working with stroke patients. She also needs to see a neurologist to determine what the cause of the stroke was in order to prevent another. This needs to be done NOW.
The therapist guaranteeing recovery should be reported to whatever licensing board has jurisdiction.
Recovery totally depends on the cognitive ability of the patient to follow directions and understand what is happening during therapy

Teshiaaron,
Sorry to hear about your g/f mother.
You need to convince them to take your g/f mother to the EMERGENCY ROOM ASAP!!!!!!!!!!
As you've said, the stroke has gotten worse, this could actually be a second stroke that has occurred.
I pray this helps..
