Please Help

I would like some input on this please:

Lately I have been trying to lose weight. Im doing this in responsible means by cutting out junk foods (for the most part) and portioning my meals better. I also have tried excercising by means of jogging, taebo, and sports. Yet, I have found in less than a month I went from 135 to a little over 150. Im 18 and about 5'6 and cannot understand why I have gained so much in such little time.
Also, as this started happening I have lost quite abit of hair. In the shower i can grab about a handful at times and it continues throughout the day. Its really thinning out.
As a little background info I do not have any other health problems except in the past 6 months I was being treated for depression and taking pills but I stopped them because I was too lazy to go get the prescription filled. Could that be it? It was a difficult time and I dont feel as depressed as before, but could I be falling back into that rut?

Weight is just a number. Where have you gained? Hips? Chest? Stomach? It could very well be your body getting used to itself (it's own cycles of hormones and whatnot) now that you're off the medication. Be patient with yourself. Those meds can have powerful side-effects.

Muscle does weigh more than fat, so if you're power-exercising you're probably going to gain at first, then streamline as your body finishes putting on the muscle it needs to keep up with your higher activity level and burn fat. These changes take months to stabilize, so don't be overly critical if you're not seeing results in a few weeks. For women, it can take a few months to get your body to slim down.

Talk to your doctor about the weight gain and hair loss - especially the latter. Good luck!

how severely have you cut down your diet?     cause that doesnt add up.    and one would gain weight by muscle mass.    Your losing fat but gaining muscle.    150 is good for a girl your age so long as its mostly muscle and not all fat
