Botox probably is not an effective regimen for relieving tmj related headache.
I had ten days of relief after my first set of injections. My pain specialist says I will even have more relief after the next set. I know this is not a cure but if it can help me to get thru the day without severe pain then it is worth doing!!!
botox is dangerous...try prolotherapy.

when my tmj/neck problems/headaches flare up these treatments help tremendously and are not dangerous
I have TMJD. I lost major teeth on my right side from grinding. I have occasional lost grip right-sighted and vertigo stemming from the right. I have two splints which are adjusted often. I take muscle relaxers. Mine is mostly stress related so I am seeing a psychiatrist for antianxiety Meds. It all seems affected. I had severe pain, a ten and felt my jaw was dropping down, but it seemed like adjustment and healing. I am feeling relief outweighing the pain. So although a lot of patients at the University Med Center are going the neurology route, I am sticking with this for now. I will ask my dentist about injections.
