Any vitamin's that will help with Hashimoto's?

Hello, I have Hashimoto's and have symptoms of hypothyroidism. I was wondering if there are any vitamins or supplements that can help alleviate some of the symptoms of Hashimoto's or hypothyroidism?  I have been taking Vitamin D becasue of a deficiency. My current doctor will not perscribe any medication for the Hashimoto's and my other levels aren't high enough for him to want to start me on any medication.  It is really affecting my day to day living and I don't know what to do. Thank you.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
No specific vitamins have been consistently shown to be helpful. Selenium may help, but may increase blood sugar.  I usually consider a trial of thyroid medication (levothyroxine) for TSH >3 in this setting.

Wow you poor thing! i have or had a couple of those but not all them. i could see how frusted one could get. ok usually Hashis is in connection with hypo so im not sure why they just wouldnt start you on something to see how it goes. i used to have SEVERE cramps until they put me on the right dose of my thyroid meds.now i hardle ng through this for 3 years now, and my thyroid still isnt where its suppost to be right now! Hashimotos is your imune system attacking your thyroid and then your thyroid doesnt work. so if your levels areent high or low enough proloning this will only make it worse. I CANNOT believe that with your symptoms that they have not wanted to try anything for you. it really boggles my mind. im not sure what to say. ill do some searching to see what i can come up with. id try to push the issue more with the dr thats very strange. good luck!

I have seen 2 endocronologists, the first one told me it wasn't my thyroid and he thought i should possibly see a hemotologist, the second one, along with my primary dr and and ENT doctor said Hashimotos... I don't know what to do or who to go to anymore.

I think it would be prudent to see an endocrinologist, your symptoms are too similar to my aunts and her glasses prescription changes didn't help the growing tumor on her pituitary.  Caught early this is an easy fix, late the tumor grows so big they have to remove part of the skull vs going through the nasal cavity.  I don't want to scare you but her MRI was scheduled for 2 weeks after she passed.  She finally was diagnosed by going to the ER as she became blind, her husband insisted on a cat scan which showed the tumor.   She passed due to complications from the surgery not due to the tumor which was benign.  I believe an indication of a tumor is an elevated human growth hormone.  Best Wishes.

Hello. I also have Hashimoto's but i also have Hypothyroidism that's how i found out i had Hashimotos. im confussed as to why they wont put you on any meds. see i first found out about they hypo and they had me on synthroid however they were not increasing my doses fast enough and thats how i got the hashimotos. they dont have you on any throid meds? this is very strange b/c i have to symptoms of either disease. the reason i got checked was b/c both my mother and grandmother have it.and sure enough i also got it. There is no meds for hashi but there is for hypo. the both work hand in hand so i am confussed on why they wont give you anything. im taking synrthroid for thyroid vit D and bit b 12. i know none of this helps and i am sorry. but i cant do some digging and find out some information for you. not to be nosey but what are u feeling in a day? like i said i dont and never did have any symptoms of either disease.
