Biopsy on left and right nodules turn out to be lymph node cells... How??

Needle biopsy was done and lymph node cells were found. Going back in to have a live cell biopsy done to rule out the worst. This doesn't make since to me?? How is this possible? Has anyone ever had or heard of this. Any information will be helpful, please!

I have Hashimoto's and my biopsy came back the same way.  My doctor said this was due to inflammation from Hashimoto's.  She said it would probably make sense to do another biopsy to get actual thyroid cells and determine if they are cancerous.  I'm not sure if I am going to do this, but I am sort of pissed that they didn't get the cells they needed the first time.

Oh, and I am a man.  I don't know if that makes any difference.

This is likely hashimotos -- lymphocytic thyroiditis -- 'live cell' is flow cytometry -- can help exclude lymphoma.
