DHEA

Ga7
Can I add DHEA sups to my Diet. It is suppose to help had hormones to the adrinal gland but must be taken in low doses.  My endo says my level of cortsal was 10.5 with improvement. Do not know that range. My TSH is 1.6 T4 is 1.8 I have been every tired even more now, and my levels have been the same for a few months. I get very very nervous now and the diariea is getting even worse. My doctor said deminer is hyper. I am fast talking, and my skin has this burning feeling all the time. It gets worse when I stand for any short period of time. He said I might have coused nerve damage from being Hypo.
Your thoughts? I can make the nervouse feeling go aways by skiping a dose, I have been doing every other day for a week. 175mcg. Even 150 every day made my chest feel jittery.

Did you doctor check your Dhea-s level? Last year, I would try this and was thinking it was making me feel worse so I nixed it.
June of this year, I would find that I have elevated Testosterone & Dhea-s (not so high as to consider adrenals) and perhaps why I didn't like the supplement. 8-0

If you do not have a blood pressure monitor, I would invest in one.
I purchased an inexpensive one from Amazon (an Omron.)
I chose a cuff that goes around the arm-not a wrist one.

Good luck!

it sounds like it may be too much thyroid medication for you -- would follow with endo to make sure the dose is okay and the levels stay within range -- skipping every other day may be too much a decrease -- so ask your doctor what to do in this case -- sometimes a decrease by one tablet a week is all it takes.

There is limited data on DHEA -- most suggests it is not helpful, b ut it is not contra-indicated in thyroid patients.
