Esophagus problem

Hi Dr Lupo.
I had thyroid cancer and had surgery Apr 08, since then occasionally I felt like food still stuck on  my throat, also lots of phlegm every day. Last month my doc lowered my syntroid from 0.125 to 0.112, a few days after that I started coughing, after every meals I can feel some food still stay at my esophagus which caused me to cough constantly. It's been a month coughing, got antibiotic  but it doesn't help.
Could this be the cause or  could it be something else like esophagus cancer. Thanks

Hi, I have a 6 year old boy who has had 2 elevated tsh results, 4.5 and 5.1 but the last one was 3.8.  His ft4 was 13 (i think) and not sure of his ft3 - but supposedly in normal range, TPO abo was less than 1.  What does all this mean?  The paediatrician has handballed it to my GP and he told me his levels were fine but I worry because of the previous 2 results.  He has quite severe mood swings (especially when tired) and complains of leg pain often.  Can you give me any information or ideas of what to do next!  Would be greatful.

Hi, I am 27 years old. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer (papillary) on July 20th, last year and had the surgery on October 15th.

I was supposed to have RAI 131 in two weeks but we canceled it. After the surgery there was an option for not having the RAI because of the side of the tumor. I had a nodule of 1.3cm in the left side of my thyroid and a 2.5mm in the right side. The surgeon said that the surgery was successful and that the cancer was encapsulated in the thyroid.

My doctors said that the benefit and the risk for the RAI treatment are low but like 50-50. They also said that if my nodule was 2cm they will tel me to do the RAI for sure.

It's better in my case not to have RAI? Is reasonable not to do it?

Thank you!

Hi, My 29 year old downsyndrome brother has hyperthyroidism.  His doctor continuously takes him off his meds when he gains too much weight and then she puts him back on meds when he looses too much weight.  He constantly gets hiccups before he eats and at times he throws up.  Is this caused by his thyroid disease or should I be concerned of something else?  He also has kidney failure.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Doubt esophogeal cancer but also not clear how it would be related to the change in synthroid dose.  Would consider having an ENT look into the throat and at the vocal cords, if that is negative and the symptoms persist, have a GI doc look in the esophagus and stomach area.
