A related discussion,
Symtoms after thyroidectomy was started.
I had near total thyroidectomy three years ago.My parathyroid seems to have been removed during the surgery. These last few days my muscles become numb and I become tired very soon and also breathless. Is it beccause of low calcium or low thyroid?
RoseBeth,
I posted a comment on Pie Face's thread. Please read it. I had the same thing but much better now 3 months after my TT.
Rose Beth please read the Thread that I posted. In addition I did see a GI Dr. and had barium swallow that showed GERD (gastric reflux) which I'm told gives the symptoms of something being in the your throat with chocking. I too have the feeling of something being in my throat but not a chocking sensation. I was prescribed Prilosec but it really hasn't done anything for me. The GI Dr. may be able to help you.
you may have some scar tissue causing the symptoms. This usually improves with time -- often it takes 6-12 months. If it gets worse, however, you may want to consider a second opinion from an ENT. If eating is the main problem, a gastro-intestinal (GI) doc could help with the evaluation.
