enlarged hetergenerous thyroid
My son had a ultrasound and has no nodgules, but does have an enlarged hetergenerous thryoid.
I am not happy with the doctors response, "repeat blood tests in 3 months."  I am considering
taking him to an endocrinologist or ENT doctor for a second opinion.  Questions:  What should I
be concerned about with this diagnosis?  Would you recommend going to another doctor?  I am
concerned because thyroid problems run in the family, and he lowered his thyroid medicine, stating
it was too high.   Very concerned mom.

Sounds like hypothyroidism due to Hashimoto's with associated thyroid enlargement - would see an endocrinologist if second opinion needed.
