high calcium causing all this???

My problems started 2 months ago with normal flu which led to severe body ache went to dr, severe infection was shown took antibiotic and felt fine within few days, after stopping the antibiotic the infection returned same way sore throat nausea bodyache weakness. I was given antibiotics again and felt better again within few days. I was at work one day when i started to feel breathing difficulty i felt as if i will faint i was taken to emergency lungs x-ray was done lots of blod test was done. High pulse rate (150) and unstable heartbeats were found on ecg. xray with and without contrast were normal. Blood was normal no infection apart from that my calcium levels were raised 2.62 and blood palets were raised too (488). I was sent home with complete bed rest. I did that but i had some really bad days some better, while lying down i feel its easier to breath but gets worse while sitting or standing. Blood tests were done again and calcium levels were high again. I was given prednisolon (short course) to take as they thaught it might be allergic astma.
Not sure if the medicine has helped or not but i am better then what i was before. Now it says that predisolon can help so many other diseases like endocrine so if its helping me i cannot be sure what the underlying cause is.... I have mild case of pco as well so i am all confused if its due to hormones, or astma, calcium or what??????
thanx in advance.....

This is not a thyroid specific question.  If the high calcium persists, check PTH (parathyroid) levels.  Make sure TSH and Free T4 have been tested as part of the eval for high pulse to exclude thyroid as cause.
