In 2010 I had my PTH blood test. At the time I was taking calcium 2720mg with 3600IU vit D.
*However I always fast 13 hrs before all blood tests*
PTH-I 55.9 pg/ml
Calcium 9.1 mg/DL
Vit d 25OH 51 ng/ml
Vit D 25OHD2 <4 ng/ml (indicates both endogenous (diet) and supplementation sources.)
This past year my calcium and D was reduced and I stopped taking the calcium and multi-viamin for 2 weeks before this test.( I did continue 1000 IU Vit D)
4/20/2012
Calcium 9.4 mg/DL
Magnesium 2.0 (H)
Vit D 25OH 50.8 ng/ml
My question:
1) Did I skew the first test results with the high doses of calcium and D even though I fast for all Bl. tests?
2) How can the second results be so high? Is the calcium coming from bone resorption? Parathyroid dysfunction?
I am a total thyroidectomy person whose HR went into bradycardia and RBBB and constant PVC's since some months after surgery. I had a slight increase of L-T4 616mg to 660 mg on June 12, 2012.
3) Isn't this a low dose for such results? I am now 140 LBS, even though I still look great.
Recent labs 7/26/ 2012 TSH =1.18, FT4= 1.25
Today I had the first normal HR of 72 BPM at 1:00 pm but 8:00 pm back to irregular and 50 BPM.
Thank you for your help Dr Lupo, Sometimes I wished I lived in Florida, but how can you stand the humidity. Sincerely
